LJ Graveyard

It's so fascinating to comb through the ruins of LiveJournal and see what ghosts remain. I miss the carefree nature of what people used to post. The willingness to be much more open about sad things, sexy things, things that seemed trivial yet profound at the same time. Facebook has it's share of thoughtful dialog, sometimes peppered with rage about adult concerns such as way, way too many people getting shot and murdered, and the current shit show of a Presedential race. But when it's not people yelling at each other, it feels sterile and compromised, cautiously measured. LJ felt much more supportive in a group hug kind of way. Of course as I say this, I never really fully embraced posting to LJ on a regular basis. I tried at first, but I quickly transitioned to being voyeur. But it sure was fun to read what others would say, lament about, brag about.
