Worn Vinyl Sleeve...

Although I'm not a big fan of their music, I'm particularly taken by the cover of Young Galaxy's debut album.

Partly because of the 70's-ish image retread (a river that looks like a road? awesome!), but also the effect that makes it look like the impint of a vinyl record has worn itself onto the sleeve. I love that look of a well worn vinyl record, and for some reason it always make me think of my vinyl copy of Yes' "Fragile" that is similarly worn.
I updated the look of my journal. I wish I could take credit for the image used, but it was one of the many available through LJ. I haven't listened to too much Death from Above 1979, but I do love the Shins album that's included. I haven't figured out the Yellow and Black CD in the image though. Any guesses?

Date: 2007-06-11 03:08 am (UTC)i wasn't blown away but they were solid. much much much poppier than i was expecting... i checked out their myspace the day before the show so i was expecting a sort of ambient-pop, but live they were sorta jangly. the lead singer might be a little too dramatic live too...
and sorry can't help with the cd ident :O(
