Time for the Lite Box

Why is it so hard to write in this damn thing? Some people have the gift.  I don't.

Regardless, I did feel it necessary to post that I need to start consistently playing music again.  I've always felt awkward on stage, but I loved doing it and it seemed to be the only thing that got me out and even slightly sociable.  As it stands now I've become quite a mossy hermit.  The bright side is that my old drummer friend Jeff and I have been playing and we're hoping to record a little demo or something.  If we gave you a cassette tape, would you take it? :)  We've been doing our best Kinks impression, but I also want it to be loudly fun like Guided by Voices, minus the buckets for vomit.  Ok, we can have vomit buckets.  I wrote a song that if ever played live, it would have the Wings song Venus and Mars as an intro.  Well, that may be going a little far.

So, the declining daylight means it's time for the Lite Box.  I've had it on pretty much all evening, but TJ likes to hog the sunlight.

Upcoming shows that I want to see:

The Velvet Teen @ the Crocodile, 11/15
Les Savy Fav @ Neumos, 11/30
Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings @ Neumos, 12/8

What else can I randomly talk about today?  No Spanish Class today.  Time off for the Veterans.

Dang, I wish you guys were closer. I'd love to jam with you.

I should be at Les Savy Fav. I don't have the new record yet, but I used to rock Rome all the time. It's been a while since I've listened to them (I can't find the cd for some reason), but I still want to see them live.

Yeah, unfortunately the pool of musicians around Bellingham tend to focus a bit too heavily on screamo or the current take on garage rock. I don't actually mind the latter so much, but I like a little melody infused with my garage.

I will see at Les Savy Fav. Their live setting is an event, and I can guarantee the new record is a gem.

There are a lot of musicians around here that will play anything, but, most of them just play guitar. Drummers and bassists are still hard to find.

I'm looking forward to seeing Les Savy Fav. I've heard their singer is pretty entertaining live. I might have to pick up the new album before the show.

that thing is so literally rad i'm not even cool enough to look at it...
